Superintendent Newsletter - February 2026

The February Superintendent Update includes a message from Dr. Moran along with important district news and reminders. Highlights include scholarship opportunities for seniors, weather and illness guidance, hiring information, and school safety resources. You’ll also find celebrations of student and staff achievements, Bond 2025 construction updates, and a recap of the February Board of Trustees meeting.

San Angelo ISD is proud to announce the Counseling Departments at Glenmore Elementary School, Santa Rita Elementary School, Lincoln Middle School, Lone Star Middle School, Central High School and Lake View High School have received the distinct honor of being awarded the Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas (CREST) award for excellence in counseling.

Texas Trust Credit Union, San Angelo READS! and fourth-grade students at Bowie Elementary recently came together to celebrate literacy through a special read-aloud and book giveaway event. Texas Trust Vice President for West Texas Brett Nikolauk and Branch Manager Leti Ramirez read from “Out of Wonder” by Kwame Alexander, sharing the power of poetry and storytelling with students.

San Angelo ISD’s Communications Team earned the highest level of statewide recognition at the 2026 Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) Conference, receiving the organization’s top honor — the Platinum Award — and setting a record by earning three Crystal Commendation Awards.
